Shannon - designer, creator and founder of Nakota Design, is a citizen of the Métis nation and is a descendant of the Cree and Assiniboine People.  She is relearning her Indigenous roots and strives to gain understanding of her ancestors journey.  She is inspired by her Métis culture and endeavours to bring her heritage and the history to life through handmade unique functional art.

Together with her husband, they create handmade utilitarian statement pieces.
